Businesses urged to get involved with Olympics
On Wednesday, October 15th, a special event is being held to help business owners take advantage of the estimated £6 billion worth of supply contracts that will be on offer around the games.
The event is being held at the Auction House in Luton and attendees will be able to take part in workshops and find out about contract opportunities.
Richard Ellis, chair of the East of England Development Agency, said: "It is estimated that somewhere in the region of 75,000 contracts will be procured through the London 2012 supply chain - everything from construction services to coach driving, design work to road marking.
"The east of England is home to a vibrant and growing black and minority ethnic business community which makes a significant contribution to the region's economy. It is therefore absolutely vital that they engage with the opportunities on offer, to enable them to compete in both national and global market places."
